Cash for Clunkers

Cash for Clunkers is a government program designed to put more fuel efficient cars on the street and remove the less fuel efficient cars. This program gives you the consumer a great opportunity to take advantage of extra money given to you when you buy a new fuel efficient car and trade in your old inefficient car.

On Thursday, June 18th the Senate voted to KEEP the Cash for Clunkers provision in the $106 billion dollar wartime spending bill. This means that both the house and Senate have approved the spending bill and now it will go to President Obama to sign. We are told that consumers can start purchasing cars in late July but we are awaiting final details from NHTSA. A firm start date has not yet been confirmed.

Consumers can start purchasing cars on July 1st and the program is scheduled to end on November 1, 2009. To ensure the best selection of vehicles, we recommend that you act quickly.
